COACHES
Welcome to Oceanside United Soccer Club's web page directed specifically
to our Intramural and Travel coaches. This page contains information
that you, as a coach, should know about our programs such as Coaching
Guidelines and Forms. If there is any information or questions about
the club or soccer in general that you would like to see addressed
on this page, please send an e-mail to info@ousc.com
. We will do our best to get the information posted.
Attention Travel Coaches
Please remember it is your responsibility to set up & break down the fields properly. All the equipment you need is in the box at each field, with the exception of OHS. The flags for the field at OHS are in the box at Merle Ave. You should check the "Schedules" page no later than Friday to see if you have the first game (set up) or the last game (break down).
If games are being played on a field on both Saturday and Sunday, the coach of the team with the last game on Saturday can leave the goals up, but he must put the corner flags back in the box. At School 2, you must remember to put the drain cover away.
At School 8, the wheels for the goals should be put in the box after the goals are moved onto the field, not left attached to the goals or nearby on the ground. The wheels are only for moving the goals back and forth and we don't want them to be "lost". The back of the goals need to be secured using the "U" shaped spikes. There is a mallet in the box to pound the spikes solidly into the ground. Failure to secure the goals properly could result in the referee deeming the field unsafe for play. At the end of the last game of the weekend, the goals must be moved to back to the fence by the parking lot.
In the event of bad weather, the coach of the first game of the day at each field must be at that field at least 2 1/2 hours before the scheduled start of the game, when the decision will be made whether to close the field by one of the following: Bob Block, John Bozzomo, Brian Trager, or Todd Kramer, and in conjunction with an Oceanside School District and Town of Hempstead appointee. If games are played on a particular field on Saturday, but the field is closed for Sunday games, the coach who has the first scheduled game at that field is responsible for breaking down the field.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Attention Travel Teams: all coaches and assistant coaches must pass the Risk Management program prior to your team being registered for the Fall Season.
